About Laser Latex: There
has been a recent surge in the latex fashion industry. Because
of the popularity of Lady Ga Ga, Katy Perry and other latex
fashion wearing celebrities, an industry that was formerly
relegated to the fetish community has exploded into the main
stream.
With this increase in the number of professional
and amateur latex craftspeople working all around the world,
there has also been a dramatic increase in the complexity
and creativity of latex design and tailoring work. However,
some designs remain un-completed because of the complex and
frustrating nature of cutting, shaping and gluing latex sheeting
to itself.
Complex shapes needed to be painstakingly
cut by hand with rotary cutting tools, which takes hours,
and often leaves nicks and cuts in the latex that can lead
to the garment ripping apart at the seams.
Enter the computer controlled laser cutting
machine. This allows for No-Touch cutting of latex with smooth,
continuous cuts that leave zero nicks and cuts to start a
tear. Shapes that were formerly too small, complex or unwieldy
can now be made, and perfectly reproduced. From a one-off
to a 10,000 piece order - each time a shape is cut it's identical.
Unfortunately this type of cutting can only
be accomplished with expensive laser cutting technology. Our

will refuse to work with latex sheeting as it does vent toxic
fumes on vaporization, and leaves some messy residue behind
after cutting. We have dedicated substantial time and money
on researching the proper filtration systems required to safely
deal with the smelly and toxic fumes from cutting. We have
also developed methods for removal of the messy residue left
by the intense heat of cutting the latex.
